Our Mission is to stop the Dawn-Euphemia Sydenham Windfarm-Ghetto.

This is our community, our township and we do not want a wind farm in our community!

Dawn-Euphemia is not just a place to live; it is a lifestyle! Our lives will drastically change for the worse, if this project is to go ahead as proposed. Even if we are lucky and our health does not suffer adversely from the turbines, our way of life will never be the same. Those of us who have valued the ability to walk safely down our Township roads with our families, will no longer be able to once construction starts. Even travel in a vehicle could be dangerous at times. We may never have the peace and tranquility we do now, once ‘site-seekers’ start flooding our local roadways, and people interrupt our leisurely weekends doing research, just as we have imposed on people in other areas with turbines. We will see a decline in wildlife populations, and an increase in vehicle accidents, drug trafficking and theft*. *This is indicative of any demographic, anywhere in the world were traffic numbers increase. Property values will decline (and have already) and the project has not even been approved yet. Life as we know it will never be the same! I understand the need for new energy sources, however, should our lives be sacrificed in order to work towards a ‘greener world’? The only ones set to benefit from this project are; largely the Project Partners, and marginally- landowners who signed contracts-(and I don’t think enough, if they were to sit down and punch some numbers) Why is it that very few people were willing to contract one on their land where their homes are situated? In addition, no benefit will come to our community, other than maybe an increase in sales in the food/gas sector. No business in the Township is of large enough scale to support a project of this size, and all workers will be brought in from elsewhere. I realize that we are a small community, but don’t we matter? Why is no one looking past the $ signs?

I’ve read that the average property value decrease is 25%. And that number goes up, the higher the value of the house. Our house is pretty average, so I guess our house has already been depreciated by this ‘project’.
